Though modern VW models don’t use conventional oil, it’s possible to use it for vintage VW models. If that describes your vehicle, we have conventional oil that’s been approved by Volkswagen here.
Whether you have a VW model powered by a TDI engine or any other diesel-powered vehicle, diesel oil changes are different. This is because the oil required by diesel engines isn’t compatible with gas engines, and vice versa. Diesel engines require oil with higher viscosity, for one thing. In addition, the detergent additives in diesel oil are different from what you’ll find in synthetic oil meant for gas engines, and they could ruin the catalytic converter in a non-diesel vehicle. We use VW-approved diesel oil for our diesel oil change service.
Synthetic oil outperforms the alternatives through synthetics that resist thermal breakdown better and for longer; it is manufactured from synthetic chemicals and does not require any crude oil for production. It requires less frequent changes and costs more than the alternatives, but the increased engine protection often mitigates the cost that it offers older engines accumulating great mileage.
When you’re ready to schedule your next oil change, we make it easy! Simply hop online and use our service scheduler to make your appointment. We look forward to seeing you soon at Antelope Valley Volkswagen.
